The results of the study of the virulicidal and antiviral activity of the Regenerator SF-01 device

The team of Sphere Life LLC, together with the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Gromashevsky Institute of Virology and Epidemiology, conducted laboratory studies of the virucidal and antiviral activity of the Regenerator SF-01 device on the swine transmission gastroenteritis coronavirus model. The following materials were used for the experiment:

Cell cultures: MDSC - transplantable culture of dog kidney cells; SPEV - transplantable culture of pig embryo kidney cells; L929 is a transplantable culture of mouse embryo fibroblasts. Animals: In the study, outbred white mice weighing 15-17 grams were used, which were on the standard diet of the vivarium for at least 7 days. Viruses: Influenza virus: the influenza virus strain obtained from the museum of viruses of the Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of M.L.V. Gromashevsky (Kyiv) was used during the work - strain A/FM/1/47(H1N1) - infectious titer in culture MDSC – 3 - 10.0 lg ID50/0.2 ml, hemagglutinin titer – 1:512 GAO/0.2 ml.

Influenza A/FM/1/47(H1N1) virus adapted to the lungs of white mice, passed 15 passages in mice, infectious titer 4.0 lg ID50 100% lethality of mice was observed within 5 days Vesicular stomatitis virus Indiana strain, obtained from the Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of L.V. Gromashevsky, (Kyiv). The infectious titer in L929 cell cultures is 4-5 lg TCD50. TGEV is the etiological agent of swine transmissible gastroenteritis (TSG), a highly contagious intestinal disease of pigs.

Virus strain: D52-5 (BRE79) is a highly pathogenic virus for pigs of all age groups at passage 5 in transplantable ST pig testicular monolayer culture. The tropism of the virus of the gastrointestinal tract and the respiratory tract is shown. The strain was provided by Dr. Hubert Laude from the Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology at the INRA Center for Biotechnology in Jois-en-Josas (France).


According to the results of the study, the following results were obtained:

  1. As a result of the research, it was shown that irradiation induces a high level of interferon (a 16-fold increase!) in mice infected with the influenza A/FM/1/47(H1N1) virus. In intact mice, irradiation did not cause an increase in interferon-inducing activity.

  2. The results of the "Regenerator SF-01" irradiation study indicate inhibition of the infectious titer of the TBS virus after exposure for 1 minute. and 10 min. by 2.0 lg TCD50, which means that exposure to "Regenerator SF-01" for 1 and 10 min has a virulicidal effect on extracellular TGS coronavirus.

  3. According to the obtained results, irradiation treatment of MDSC cells infected with the influenza virus and infected with the influenza virus one hour after irradiation inhibited the reproduction of the influenza virus by 2.0 lg TCD50, which means that the irradiation treatment effectively inhibits the reproduction of the influenza virus in the treatment and preventive scheme of the introduction of the virus.

  4. According to the results, it was shown that radiation treatment for 20 min. infected with the TSC coronavirus and non-infected cells, which an hour later were infected with the TSC virus, effectively inhibited the reproduction of the TSC coronavirus by 2.0 lg TCD50.

  5. According to the obtained results of irradiation for 30 min. statistically reliable infectious titer of the influenza virus in infected mice by 2.0 lg TCD50 and by 1.0 lg TCD50 during the prophylactic irradiation scheme of experimental mice.

  6. The analysis of the results of the cytotoxic effect of various treatment modes shows that the treatment of cell cultures and SPEV for 1, 5, 10 and 30 min. were not toxic.
